JibberBook 2.2 Released

JibberBook 2.2 has been released. Not too much new. There are now 15 different languages available (wow!) and there’s flood control to prevent spammers from posting multiple comments. Over all it should be more stable.

This marks the last feature release for JibberBook 2. Next up is JibberBook 3, a complete rewrite to make it a more flexible commenting system. Anybody want to help?

    You also have to give /libraries/htmlpurifier/standalone/HTMLPurifier/DefinitionCache/Serializer write access or you can just use mysql.

    i gave

    /libraries/htmlpurifier/standalone/HTMLPurifier/DefinitionCache/Serializer

    Write access … and gave me the same message

    an error has occurred :(

  13. Chris

    Your web host is sending additional content with the ajax calls, which is why the error occurs. If you notice, the comment still gets added. Talk to your host about that.

  14. master-Design

    Love this! I’ve embedded it nicely into the site I’m building. Well, fairly nicely. The navigation is based on a jquery sliding gallery, and it seems that mootools isn’t playing nicely. Oh well… don’t support jibberbook will be out for jquery any time in the very near future? :)

    Anyway, thanks for this wonderful app.

    @derek:
    Errr… that was supposed to be “don’t SUPPOSE jibberbook will be out for jquery any time in the very near future?”

  22. Chris

    @derek: Thanks for the comment. Have you tried using jQuery in noConflict mode?

    JibberBook powered by jQuery is in the works, but unfortunately I can’t commit to any time frame. It’s being rewritten from scratch and I’m about a third done.

    @Chris: Thanks Chris… didn’t know about jQuery.noConflict(). Just popped it in and everything is working fine now. Thanks for the tip!

    No pressure on a jquery jibberbook. You’re doing it for free, so I’m just happy that the app exists. It’s by far the best quality ajax guestbook I’ve seen yet.

    @darryl:

    Hi darryl I see you removed the scroll, can you help or at least point me to the direction. I am trying to add “Next” on the bottom, so that people will be able to preview only number of comments

  26. iwan

    Hy

    …thanks first for your guestbool – looks smart
    but when uploaded to vps-server it returns an error when adding a comment: An Error has occured

    firebug shows as awnser:
    Fatal error: Call to undefined method SimpleXMLElement::addChild() in …. guest/data_layer/xml/comments.class.php on line 106

    any idea?
