Prism on Linux

Prism, essentially Firefox without toolbars, is an interesting new twist in the web app world. When I tried it on Windows, though, it was hardly usable. Since then, I’ve switched to Linux, and I thought I’d give Prism another try, mostly due to Firefox crashing because I was running Pandora Radio constantly.

Surprisingly, performance is a lot better on Linux! So I thought, why stop at Pandora? I use Gmail and Google Reader every day so those seemed like good candidates for Prism. Unfortunately, icon creation for Prism shortcuts doesn’t work yet, and I couldn’t find any good icons for Google apps so I had to make my own. Here’s what my sidebar looks like now:

If anyone knows of any icons for Google web apps, let me know; all I did for mine was swipe the Google Groups icon and add text. Or if there’s a way to display text with launchers in a panel.

Prism is by Mozilla. Are you thinking of AIR?

    I know that.

prism seems less important than ria.
