Mootools v1!

If you haven’t heard already, mootools v1 is finally out and the site has a nice new look. Cool, eh? For differences between the latest version and rev83 check out this blog entry at solutoire. In the future, I plan on jazzing up my SimpleView Gallery with mootools. I also have other plans for it, like making a super-deluxe version that automatically creates and populates an sqlite database with images already uploaded which will allow for extra information to be stored relating to each individual image. So watch for that!

It looks nice. Just out of curiosity, is there a difference between mootools and script.aculo.us? I have tried out script.aculo.us a bit, but decided against it because of incompatabilities in Safari.

But you have to be proud, I have started using prototype. I know, late to the party, but I’m coming around slowly, but surely.

Mootools beats everything out there is what the difference is! The design theory behind mootools was smaller is better. So it’s much smaller than most javascript frameworks out there. It’s also been tested on Safari and supports it rather well, I believe.

Prototype is too bloated simply because you’ll never use all of the functionality it offers. Mootools is modular and lets you download only what you need, thus reducing file size even more. I suggest you drop prototype and switch to mootools.
