Hey all. I just want to let you know what’s coming up. Big Things. That’s what.

You may have noticed that I released two awesome web apps. So what else could be in the works, you ask? I am once again redesigning my website. It looks pretty nice right now, but it’s not quite there yet. I’ll give you a little taste of what it looks like: it’s black and green and white. I should have it up pretty soon since I found out just last week that the library has wifi. It’s a little slow, but it beats paying for the internet.

Anyway, I was thinking about how to keep fresh content on my blog and I decided I’d do one of those “asides” miniblog or whatever you want to call it, where I post a sentence or two about an article or something. I can do that when I don’t have anything big to write about. I also considered a feed that showed the latest articles from such sites as Digital Web Magazine, SitePoint, and Vitamin, but their articles aren’t always relevant to what my blog is about or I just don’t like some of them. So I’ll just pick which ones I like and post them in the miniblog (which will appear in the sidebar).

While trying to accomplish this, I found the new Wordpress widgets pretty cool and easy to program for. If you’re not familiar with it, it allows you to drag and drop what you want displayed in your sidebar. Actually making a widget is pretty simple, even without the docs. And making the asides functionality was a cinch. Wordpress is just a joy to work with.
