JibberBook 2.1.2 released

If you haven’t been following along, JibberBook 2.1.2 was released this Thursday. It includes a security update for HTML Purifier and a bug fix. It also fixes the broken 2.1.1 build, released a few days earlier. It’s my fault and I apologize. I figured updating HTML Purifier wouldn’t require testing, but I was wrong and some files didn’t get included in the update, causing errors if you had HTML Purifier enabled. But it’s all fixed now!

    Ouch. I’m sorry to hear that I accidentally hit you with some of the backwards incompatible changes in 3.1.0. In the future, I’ll be sure to provide fully backwards-compatible security fixes. My apologies for any troubles.

    Cheers,
    The HTML Purifier Team

    Edward, it wasn’t your fault at all. It was my update process.

    Hey Francis,

    The demo was messed up when you looked at it. It has nothing to do with your browser or anything. Thanks for alerting me.

    Hey Chris,

    Great work, just one question.
    Why is there no error warning when blocked html tags are used? F.i. when you paste a link to a youtube movie.

    Regards,
    Bob

    The html is filtered to prevent any malicious code from being entered. You can, however, change the html that can be allowed. Visit http://htmlpurifier.org for more information.

  7. Bob

    That’s clear Chris. I was just wondering why there is no warning when code gets filtered out. Users might be confused when the posted comment differs from what they have written.

  8. Chris

    It never occurred to me really. Do you know of any other applications that notify the users if their content has been modified?

  9. Bob

    not really, for commenting it’s not that important I guess. Below the form I am going to put some information about html filtering. That should do it.

    I noticed your Dutch translation is not 100% correct. If you need an update, let me know.

  10. Chris

    Sure, if you have time to correct it, please do.

  11. Bob

    there you go:

    “An error has occurred.” =>
    “Er is een fout opgetreden”

    “More comments are loading. If you are using the scrollbar, please release your mouse.” =>
    “Meer reacties worden geladen. Als u de scollbar gebruikt, laat dan alstublieft uw muis los.”,

    “Name and Comment fields are required.” =>
    “Naam en reactie zijn verplicht.”,

    “required” =>
    “verplicht”,

    “Do not fill out this field.” =>
    “Vul dit veld niet in.”,

    “Password” =>
    “Wachtwoord.”,

    “Incorrect password.” =>
    “Incorrect wachtwoord.”,

    Hello, My question will reveal my ignorance, but is there a way to embed the index.php into an html page which will operate calling all the functions?
    Thank you in advance for your help.
    Pablo

    I have placed index.php in an i-frame, but submit returns the “invalid URL” message. Can someone tell me what php edits I need to make for this to work?
    Thanks

    Hey, I was just wondering if there is any way to add pages to Jibberbook. I mean, instead of just one long list, if there anyway to chop the list up and have page links at the bottom?

    Just a question…

  16. Steve

    Chris,

    I was wondering how easy it would be to make the comments be hidden, until someone enters their own, then reload with all comments showing.

    any tips would be greatly appreciated.
